Celebrated on July 4, 2008

It was a gorgeous day in The Bay Area and dozens of friends gathered on the 4th of July to pay their respects...I mean, help Jonathan celebrate this momentous occasion.

Jonathan had spent the week preparing for this event...

Naturally, the B&B were ready...
(Baguettes and Beers)

A potato patch was uprooted to make way for the 70, or so, places at the tables for guests...

Everyone brought some vittles...

Ellen and Brian had a batch of Pesto Prawns...

The Obesters made a batch of 'rolls'...

Sandy shows off their handiwork.

Someone brought an impressive platter of dolmas.

Alexia found out Adam Tolmach made a Riesling.

Todd is a big fan of Tolmach beer...

...so one was not sufficient!

Our little sommelier got to work...

This couple brought a most inspirational jug wine...

생일 축하합니다

Henry explains it's not a good idea for Alexia to drink the whole bottle by herself.
"I'll help you." he intones.

Meanwhile, Richard and Paul were slicing the lamb.

The Old Oven-Meister himself!

Richard still has ten fingers...

The buffet was impressive...

The band, The Sinners, got busy and serenaded us during the meal and after...

Apparently the lavender grows better when it's fertilized with wine.

Jake and the band took a break to enjoy the bountiful buffet.

Drummer Erik Nielsen said the vittles were "hard to beat."

She's praying they play an encore...

Wow...I managed to post a little video!
Cool...

And at this point, many of us headed home, while the hard core stuck around and partied with old Jonathan until well after sunset....
