A SUMMER DINNER WITH JONATHAN & LUCY
TOLMACH
With Federico Sandri from Italy's
Trentino region, Ellen Weisl, Brian Weisl and famous foodie, Laramie Trevio.
A Friday Night in July of 2006
We began the evening with a cool beer, tapped from Jonathan's refrigerated
cellar.
Brian tried his hand at filling a beer glass
for his thirsty uncle.
Just for comparison, here's a photo of Brian and Federico about 4 years ago.
Jonathan showed Federico the wood-burning oven...
Then we had a stroll around the gardens...
Jonathan, Lucy and Federico, with Brian lurking in the background.
Laramie, meanwhile, was busy picking berries...
Brian went for a cool swim...
As it grew dark, we ambled back to the house for dinner...
A bottle of Stirn Muscat was delicious!
Federico is a big fan of sushi.
So is Laramie.
We then had some nopales and tomatillo sauce.
Brian brought in a tray of oven-roasted vegetables.
The Nalle 2003 Zinfandel was quite good with the mol and Chile Colorado.
Dessert was good, too.
And the clock struck 12...we departed, well-fed with memorable food.
