CCIV VISIT
Page 2
Finally we walked over to the Grace Garden
Chinese Restaurant for some "Cuisine Chinoise."
What was not expected was an array of bottles with special labels featuring a
few of the students!

Mademoiselle Laure Bossu was stunned to find she had her picture on a bottle of
California wine.

Monsieur Federico found this to be very clever!

"There's something "fishy" going on here."

We began with "Hot & Sour" Soup.

The Pot Stickers were quite good, served with Baileyana's Edna Valley Sauvignon
Blanc.

The lady on the right, Ms. Catherine LaPorte, is one of the tour's
organizers.

The group departed, heading for California's Central Coast and more adventures.
Staying behind was Florence Zito. Everyone celebrated her birthday, even
though it is not until November.

Florence made a visit to Niebaum Coppola's wine bar in Palo Alto near Stanford
University.
From there she dined at the lovely Zibbibo Restaurant.

She tasted several varieties of West Coast Oysters, along with the Oven-Roasted
Mussels. Accompanying the mussels was a glass of Iron Horse Viognier and
Qupe Marsanne.
With the oysters, we had Txomin Etxaniz Txakoli, a Basque White wine made of
Hondarribi Zuri (85%) and Hondarribi Beltza (15%).

The birthday girl also enjoyed the oven-roasted Grouper (Mrou in
French) served with rice, mussels and clams, while a Pomegranate-Molasses
Roasted Pork was enjoyed by the host.
