Alessia Dall'U in San Francisco_2012

Alessia was recovering from a late-in-the-Saturday visit to Monterey...

Alessia said she became quite hungry looking at all this fresh seafood, so she and the Sicard family made their way to Fisherman's Wharf for some clam chowder.

They returned home Saturday night, knowing they had to sleep fast...Sunday would be a busy day with Uncle Gerald.

And, so, soon, it was Sunrise in Santa Clara!

Alanna made her way to Chateau Sicard and soon the land yacht was full and driving northbound to Burlingame.

And on a Sunday morning, you'll need to wait 30 to 60 minutes for a table at Nini's!

Clementine and Alanna were hungry...

...and Slap-Happy!

After a short while, the name ALESSIA was called and our table in the backyard was ready!
And what a backyard, as Alessia soon discovered.

Everyone ordered breakfast and soon Alessia has three sausages wrapped in pancakes.

Steak & Eggs

There might be a new "worry line" in progress:  Alessia.

We finished breakfast and got up to make our way to The City.

We drove to The City and found parking in North Beach near the Club Fugazi.

Alessia was mighty impressed and she knows it takes a lot of singing and dancing to sell bottles of wine, so....

After this amazing show, we decided to stroll, a bit, around North Beach.

And we found some interesting shops!

After all the "head gear" we saw at Beach Blanket Babylon, the girls simply HAD to check out a store on Columbus Avenue...

And this place had some cool "shades."

So, Cool Daddy-O tried some sunglasses on for size...

Alessia found a hat commonly seen at the Giant's baseball games:  That of The Panda.

The Panda

Pierre, Alessia in the back,
Alanna and Clementine in the front.

Everyone was smitten by the look of this car...

And it was a lovely day, weather-wise.

That's Coit Tower in the background.

As we ambled along, there were some interesting sites...

An "Italian" Elevator.

Pizza Delivery Guy

By any measure, this day has been great...and there's more to come!

A flag from "home" for Alessia!

I think this homeowner means "No Parking."

Here's a noteworthy store...

First they had Beatniks...Then Hippies...Now Clementine, Alanna & Alessia!

Alanna embraced the notion of being a Hippie or, at least, a Flower Child.

Peace.

All gone.
Finito!

Alanna and Alessia were intrigued by the Juke Box.

And so we strolled back to the garage...

Alessia couldn't tell, at one point, if she was in America or China.

Though Alessia is here to learn more English, she had this to say:
我愛加州......這是一個偉大的地方!

Oops!
Speaking too much Italian, the San Francisco Police nearly arrested Alessia unless she agreed to speak English.
"Yes sir!" she said.

Going Up?

We got in the car and motored around The City for a while, stopping over by Golden Gate Park...

We parked near 9th Avenue for dinner at Park Chow...
And Pierre was delighted to see this place...

Pierre and Pierre's Auto Body.

The nice menu makes choosing a difficult task...

The kitchen was preparing for the work of preparing dinner for our table of hungry eaters!

Burgers, Sandwiches, Pasta and More!

We began with a bottle of Schloss Gobelsburger...
..
...a terrific dry white.  Gruner Veltliner.

Nice wine.

They make some wonderful won tons at Park Chow!

And the pizza was good, too!

The chilled Gruner Veltliner was bracingly refreshing, too.

Alessia was eager to try an American Pizza.

While Alanna was pulling some strings,
Alessia was chasing butterflies!

Alanna showed Alessia proper pasta-eating technique.

Clementine is big on Steak Frites...

I think we were speaking about Pandas, Giraffes and Horses...animals related to the San Francisco Giants'
baseball team.

I think we had a couple of horses here...

And this brought Alessia to tears, laughing so hard she nearly burst!

Mama Mia!

But Alanna could not stop!

We had room for dessert and Park Chow serves some good, homemade sweets!

Chocolate Cream Pie

Butterscotch Banana Cream Pie

And they even served Cutie Pie!

A fellow having dinner near our table was curious as to what was going on over here...

Really, I'm not quite sure, either!

And we finished our meal and ambled out of the restaurant...

...and into the cool San Francisco Summer night!

As you can see, Clementine's shirt says "U-C-I" when it should read:
You See Me!

Pierre and I then changed places...

We then motored over to Van Ness.

City Hall.

Alessia, Alanna and Clementine and I waited for a cable car to come give us a ride to the Embarcadero...
It became cold and windy out there on California Street!

Eventually, around 9:20, a Cable Car arrived to pick us up.

Despite the posted schedule indicating they operate until well past midnight, the cable car operator said they would be heading back towards downtown, but going a mere 3 blocks!

We will have to take Alessia on a Cable Car another time...

So we got back into Pierre & Aviva's grand Land Yacht and motored back home, heading down Van Ness.

Alessia was impressed some of the neighboring cars provided musical entertainment.

These young folks, for example, we singing and dancing down Van Ness...

And we motored down the 101 back home!

And so we concluded a wonderful Sunday!
